Cubs catchers are terrible at defense
I don't know if you've been paying attention or not, but if you have, you've noticed how terrible the two Cubs catchers are on defense. Dioner Navarro may be the worst defensive catcher I've ever seen. Welington Castillo isn't far behind.
I was curious how many times per game these guys have screwed up. Wild pitches, passed balls and errors seem to be the best...
Navarro Blast Propels Cubs to Victory over Giants
Dioner Navarro blasted a three-run home run to cap a four-run 1st inning, and Jeff Samardzija and six relievers combined to throw a six hitter, as the Cubs edged the San Francisco Giants 4-3 in the Cubs 2013 Cactus League home opener before a sparse crowd (7,784) this afternoon at cool & blustery Dwight Patterson Field at HoHoKam Park in Mesa, AZ.

Dioner Navarro – what are you talking about?!?
Cubs catcher Dioner Navarro uttered these words last week in an interview: “I have a good history of going to bad teams and trying to turn them around a little bit.” Really, Dioner? And when might have you done that? Well, there was the 2008 season when, two seasons after joining the Tampa [...]

Dioner Navarro Signing Could Be Smart Move by Cubs
The Chicago Cubs’ modus operandi in the early stages of free agency has been pretty clear: buy low on veteran players which, inevitably, they’ll hope to flip before next year’s trade deadline.
First, they inked right-hander — and 2012 Tommy John recipient — Scott Baker to a one-year, $5.5 million incentive-laden deal. Prior to the surgery, Baker was one of the more solid...

Six of nine lives lived by Dioner Navarro
Mediocre catchers play forever. If you can squat behind the plate and block a few balls in the dirt and not totally embarrass yourself with your arm, somebody in Major League Baseball will employ you. Hitting is optional. Thus, catchers will bounce from organization to organization and play over a dozen seasons and like cats, live out nine lives as a baseball player. Dioner Navarro...
Cubs complete deal with Navarro
The Chicago Cubs formally announced a one-year deal with former All-Star catcher Dioner Navarro Friday.
Navarro's salary for next season is $1.75 million. He could earn another $250,000 in performance bonuses.
The 28-year-old has spent all or part of the last nine seasons in the major leagues, playing for the Yankees, Dodgers, Rays and Reds. Last year, he split the season between...

Navarro getting his kicks with the Reds
There are eight flat screen televisions hanging in the palatial and spacious Cincinnati Reds clubhouse, seven of them usually tuned in to baseball games or football games on Saturdays and Sundays.
The eighth TV is directly in front of catcher Dioner Navarro's locker and it is always tuned in to a soccer match from somewhere around the world.
And Navarro sits in front of his...

Reds win home finale on a Navarro walk-off triple
Bruuuuuce appears to be levitating.
With the only thing left to achieve in the regular season being the #1 seed, the Reds (94-62) looked to claim a series victory over the Brewers (80-76) in an afternoon affair, which also happened to be the last regular season home game of 2012. Don't worry though. There will be playoff baseball in the Queen City.
The recently...
