Another Sort-Of First for Bryce Harper
Even when I’m not trying to pay attention to Bryce Harper, he finds a way to capture my focus. Last night, I was seeing off a friend on the east side of Portland, and if I’d been thinking about any sport, it was hockey, since these are the days of the NHL playoffs. A TV was being projected onto one of the walls of the bar, and at first it was showing a minor-league hockey game...
The Washington Nationals Are Wearing Shirts With Their Pitching Coach’s Playgirl Photo On Them
Sure many women flock to Bryce Harper as the heartthrob of the Washington Nationals, but it’s actually their pitching coach, Steve McCatty who sends all the ladies into a tizzy. All the female fervor over McCatty reached it’s hunky pinnacle in 1984 when he was featured in a Playgirl pictorial. Next stop Beefcake City.
This tantalizing photo has all of the early 80′s sexuality...
Bryce Harper did everything except untuck his shirt yesterday...
Confront his fear of walls? Check (video here).
Hit an opposite field home run? Check (video here).
Make a great sliding catch in the eighth? Check (video here).
Hurt his knee again on that catch and scare the crap out of Davey Johnson late in the game because of said knee? Check ("It’s a little swollen." said Harper after the game).

Nats closer rips Harper after miscue
It's been a rough couple of weeks for Nats' rising star Bryce Harper.
First, there was his embarrassing face-plant into the right-field wall at Dodger Stadium. Harper tried to track down a drive off the bat of A.J. Ellis but failed to remember the important part of the term "warning track."
Take a look for yourself.
OK, so maybe it's wise for him not to do...

Bryce Harper admits he’s afraid of crashing into wall again
Your browser does not support iframes. Gregor Blanco came up with a timely hit for the San Francisco Giants to tie the game in the ninth against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night, but he may have gotten a little help from Bryce Harper. Blanco’s RBI triple tied the game at 2-2 and the Giants went on to win in extra innings. As you can see from the video above, it looked...
Rafael Soriano on Bryce Harper: "With two outs, I could tell my four-year-old son, 'You know where you need to play,' and he would go to the right spot to make the play."
So Rafael Soriano took the opportunity to rip Bryce Harper last night for his miscue in the 9th inning on Gregor Blanco's game-tying triple. Via USA Today Sports:

Harper ripped by teammate after loss
Nationals reliever Rafael Soriano questioned Bryce Harper's defensive positioning on a game-tying triple that tied the game in the ninth inning that ultimately led to a loss.
Bryce Harper on that triple over his head: "I don’t want to hit the frickin’ wall full-on."
So what happened on that deep fly ball by Gregor Blanco that went over Bryce Harper's head in the 9th inning that turned into a game-tying triple? Harper appeared to flinch as he approached the wall and misplayed the ball (see video here).
Turns out Harper was thinking about running into another wall:
"I don’t want to hit the frickin’ wall full-on. Of course...
Bryce Harper returns to lineup: "If I bang it up or something it's right back to square one."
So Bryce returns to the Nationals lineup tonight, batting third: there he is above taking BP as seen on MASN tonight. And here's Harper talking about how sliding could be a problem tonight on MASN's Nats Xtra pregame show:
"It was more of just running on it. Sliding. things like that. I think the slide's probably gonna hurt the worst. If I bang it up or something...
