To say the very least it was an EPIC ending as Jamie swam into 100+ fans waiting to welcome him. As he emerged from the water to a crawling stand coaches and crew helped him out to hug his wife and daughter. Media crews and the white finish line were crossed making Jamie the first man to do a double crossing wetsuit swim of Lake Tahoe. Medical assistance was there waiting and after a quick review Jamie was well enough to stick with the crowd and acknowledged he would admit himself later in the evening as needed. Jamie sat with his family, friends and fans and soaked up the rewards of his accomplishment. The evening continued at Jakes with a congratulatory celebration of achievement. For the moment Jamie Patrick has lived his dream. Statement of Correction: This is NOT a world record. This swim DOES make history in Lake Tahoe.

Mission Accomplished!!!

Jamie is less than 800 yards to shore...

Jamie is exactly one nautical mile from the shore, 24.5 hours into this, and just asked for a piece of bread. It is so exciting and this will be an emotional celebration. "Sierra Cloud" The Hyatt Catamaran just came out to cheer him on. Terry and Hadley Patrick are on the beach ready to shower him with love.

Jamie is leading the way and we are all escorting him in. Jamie is 100% in charge of conquering his goal, milestone and dream. His physical reserves are beyond depleted but he is willing himself to persevere. Pure determination and ultimate will power is pressing him forward. We can see the beach yet every yard, minute and stroke is a struggle. 23 and a half hours in.. and within the last two miles of the World Record.

3:15pm Safety First.. Jamie is Powering Through..

Jamie is in his deep zone you can see it and feel it from all around him. His stomach continues to be a struggle and feedings have dramatically decreased since Greg completed his part in this last night... up until Camp Richardson he was eating regularly every 20 minutes. Since approx. 4am he has had little food. Before 4am last night he was averaging 350-360 cals an hour now he is averaging maybe 150 cals an hour. His most recent feeding happening as I type was an attempt to give him mellon, however the mellow is floating in the water. Jamie is struggling with swelling all over his body. In his face, neck, hands an tongue. The swelling is from his wetsuit a natural suction cup one hour shy of 24 hours into this. We have medical assistance on call. He is breathing well, talking well, full of love sweat and tears. We are approx. two hours out and infamous Karen Rogers open water swimmer, resident of Tahoe and personal friend to Jamie is here onboard and ready to swim with him. Jamie still wants to power through this on his own. We are amazingly proud of him and keeping safety as the number one priority.

Jamie can see the green roof of the Hyatt, and is pulling from somewhere deep inside to keep swimming on. The latest REWARD for him out here on the water has been the arrival of his wife Terry Patrick and Hadley Patrick his daughter.

We are less than five miles from the shore and Jamie rising from the waters of Lake Tahoe to become the first man to conquer "The Tahoe Double"

He is still in pain and his stomach is giving him trouble... the spirit on the boat, family, friends and everyone following has been amazing truly Jamie - EVERYONE IS CHEERING FOR YOU....

Jamie is giving it what he's got and then some... GO JAIME... GO JAMIE.. GO!!!

12:10am We are less than ten miles to the finish, 19.5 hours into this, with 6,000 calories consumed so far, food and feedings are going fantastic, water temperature has not been an issue mostly due to his amazing SailFish wetsuit. Jamie quotes from the water "in a world of hurt right now" and another Jamie quote from this journey.. "guys just stand back and let me have a moment to cry" In one of my first talks with Jamie leading up to this event he explained one of the ways he works through his emotion and mental anxiety leading up to and during the swim is through tears.

Jamie is keeping going... keeping it on... and keeping it real... Way to Go Jamie!!

11:47am The CREW onboard the "Sun Catcher"

Matt Richardson - Captain and Long Time Friend.. at the Helm of the boat most of the trip has stayed focused to keep us on course which is no small feat to make sure Jamie doesn't end up swimming more than he should. He has also been a guide out in the kayak and onboard all around with crew.

Chris Hauth - SailFish Sponsor and Ironman Coach, Chris loves to call Jamie "Blue" has been the "Nutritional Guide" onboard mastering Jamie's feedings. He has tracked and monitored exactly what Jamie has consumed and guided Jamie with a lot of stomach upset and fuel/energy deficit. Chris Danesi - An Elite Ironman Athlete and Coach, met Jamie in college at Cal State Long Beach when they swam on the same swim team... Chris has been highly inspirational out on the boat keeping Jamie going. He was the first to swim with Jamie in the early morning and cool waters today and has offered assistance with equipment, gear and mental encouragement.

Keith Metzger - Is our "Jack of all Traits" with a hand in just about everything from navigation to helm to kayak to feedings to charting. Keith and Jamie have been friends since high school and both still live in Lafayette their kids all play together and Keith is also an accomplished athlete that has trained through the years with Jamie.

Garrett Harley - Is our most mastered Kayaking King.. he has been in the Kayak the most and holds a steady course and pace for Jamie to swim with. Garrett is an Ironman Athlete and was crew with Jamie during Jamie's big 17+ mile swim at Clear Lake.

Favorite thing about Jamie.. with no hesitation he says.. Oh geez he is a "WARRIOR"

Paige Dunn - Founder of Xcel Sports Group is a Tahoe Double Sponsor and long time friend. She has worked with Jamie for months leading up to this and many of you may have read the blog posted about her earlier. She joined us at lunch yesterday and came out on the boat this morning. She is here with encouragement, commitment and excitement.
