Hey YARD!
So I've officially been in Japan for one week now. What a different culture! I'm starting to get used to it. The food is definitely different, but I have found some things that I like. We had a team welcome party, met the heads of Toyota Motor Corporation, and sports directors and what not. We ate shaybu-shaybu (sp?) --which is SOO Good! Sushi of course, bento lunch boxes and of course a variety of other things. I've also had Italian (pasta, pizza), which seems to be pretty popular.
Practice, has gone well so far. We are playing a lot of practice games (or open games as they call them), and I can see that our team has potential. It's been really good to see Tasha out there playing short-- I think were keeping each other sane. :) We laugh a lot together at trying to figure out what our teammates are trying to tell us, or the new Japanese words we have learned. Of, course we both stick out like sore thumbs, so everyone stares at us everywhere we go!
I'm looking forward to the season, and learning even more Japanese, so I can talk with them more and not use so many hand signals!
I'm hoping to continue to enjoy myself here and play good softball and have fun!
